Almighty God,
    There are many senior citizens who are battling loneliness and heartache as well as adjusting to their bodies slowing down.  Brighten their day.  Send them hope through friends and neighbors.  Let these helping hand touch them with your love.  Amen

God,
   It saddens me to think of the terror that those in the Middle East.  Hatred turns into war and innocent people are killed.  Be with those hurt and injuried.  Comfort those who have lost dear, loved ones in this conflict.  Amen

Heavenly Father,
   I beseech you this morning to be with all the children.  Bless them and give them a peaceful day.  Let no harm touch them.  Help those who are sick.  Encourage those who feel unloved.  Bath them in kindness.  Amen

    There are many sick children fighting for their lives in hospitals all over the world.  Be with them, Lord, and give them joy today.  Bolster their parents and comfort them.  Be with their caregivers and have compassion and love guide them as they care for the little ones.  Let them feel your presence today.  Let them grow stronger in their faith.  Use this journey to form a deeper love with you.   Amen

   Many feel unloved and turn to drugs to numb the pain.  Many feel the pain of child abuse and take the path of self-destruction, unable to cope with adulthood.  Help these hurting and lost souls.  Send healing hands to those in pain.  Be with them as they face their bad choices and learn to make new ones.  Renew their spirit.  Guide them to you and instill hope in their hearts.  Amen

   I am asking you to bless and comfort those who have lost their homes.  You know their sorrow.  You know their pain.  Give them courage to face the loss and hope to face the trials of rebuilding their lives.  Let all those who touch their lives do so with love, kindness and understanding.  Amen

   Please be with those struggling with the winter storm.  I ask a special blessing on the homeless caught in this unexpected bad weather.  Give patience and understanding to those fraught with anxiety and worry.  Amen

Thank you, God, for the freedom of worship.  There are places in this world where belief in you is punishable by death.  I pray that all the believers in the world have a blanket of protection covering them.  Strengthen them, God.   Give them courage to spread your word to others.  Open the heart  of those persecuting them.  You can change their hearts, Lord, like you converted Paul.  Let us all pray for the freedom of worship.  Amen

   Do you look down from heaven and become sadden with what you see here on earth?  Do you still have hope that we can become loving and giving people? 
   Sometimes I see the cruelness we inflict on others and cringe with shame.  We know better and we should do better.  Help us learn to treat everyone with kindness. 
   Sexual slavery needs to stops.  Hatred needs to stop.  Abuse needs to stop.  So please change our hearts. Guide us into becoming better.  Help us eradicate evil.  Encourage us to make a difference and conquer the hurtfulness on earth.  Amen

   Thank you, Lord, for life.  It is a gift.  I might get down and depressed but then I remember that I am your child.  So it all becomes okay.  So I rejoice in your love and thank you for the day.

   Look at all the broken people in the world.  They are hurting and scared.  They need help.  So my prayer to You today is to send Your healing love to them and I know the only way that happens is when You use us to pass Your love on to them.  We must use our arms to hug them and comfort them.  You must put the consoling words in our mouth to start the healing process.  We must recognize that through You we have the power to aid each broken and hurt person and we do this through interactions with each other.  Empower us to show our love and compassion to the hurting, broken folks we meet each day.  Amen

Almighty God,

   There are friends who are mourning today.  Send your loving comfort to them.  Let me be of service to those who are suffering.  Amen

   In the grand scheme of things I know this is such a small matter.  But I am asking for the healing of my pet.  I love her and don't want to see her suffer.  Please touch her and heal her.  This I ask in the name of Jesus, your son.  Amen

God,
   There are many being enslaved right now as sex objects.  They are being abused physically and mentally.  There is no one to tell them that God loves them and sees their plight.  I am asking for grace for those trying to get free from the horrible sex trade.  Open doors, open shackles and make guards blind as they escape.  Give them safe harbors of refuge as their wounds heal.  Lift them up in love as You lifted up Jesus into Your loving arms when He died on the cross for us.  Let these poor, weak souls be refreshed.  Aid those who are trying to rescue them.  Put a blanket of safety over these rescue operations.  Amen

Lord.
  I ask you accept the new departed back into your loving arms.  Console those who have lost loved ones.  Give strength in these trying times.  Amen

God,

PENNIES FOR PENCILS

God,
  I want to thank you for the idea to collect pennies to help needy children.  The response at church was great.  We collected change for one month and we got loads of pencils, crayons, comp books, folders, etc. for all the children.  So than you for making others give generously.  Thank you for letting us share our bounty with 300 needy inner-city children.     GOD IS GREAT!  Amen

Lord God Almighty,
    Many many thanks for stemming the tide of ants invading the kitchen sink.  I appreciate that blessing.  I guess they were looking for the Ark and came hear because they heard I was calling all relatives and asking for Gopher wood for building one due to all this rain.  Guess they wanted to be first on board.
   You do bless me, Lord.  Now I will ask you to bless all the children starting their new school year today.  Let them arrive safely and calmly.  Let all the new children to school adapt and adjust while making new friends.  Be with all first graders and let them cope with this new adventure.  Watch over the teachers and give them patience and loving ways to handle their students.  Be with the janitors as they clean up the messes and esp. be with bus drivers so the kids all arrive safely.  Amen

Heavenly Father,
    Many folks are in turmoil and distress.  Help them, Father.  Be with them and comfort them in their time of need.  Amen

All the glories of this world You have created.  Your majesty is present in the highest mountain and the tiniest grain of sand.  Your grandeur is all around me.  I praise and glorify You.  Amen

   Good morning.  I am so tired that I want to crawl back in bed and ignore the duties of the day.  So I guess I am asking for strength today so I can complete my tasks.  It's going to have to come from you because I am empty.  So, Lord, enegize me.  Please.

    I am happy I know You.  I am delighted to know I am Yours.  Thank You for sending educators to children who teach the most important thing - "Jesus Loves Me".  That simple song that I learned as a toddler has been my saving grace as I become elderly.  So thank You for all the Sunday school teachers in the world.  Bless them as continue to spread Your word.  Amen

   You are like a loved one with dementia when it comes to forgiving my sin.  You do heartily forgive me at once when I repent and then the sin is no more remembered by You.  Maybe that's why I am now caring for a loved one with dementia so I can finally and thoroughly know how You can forgive me.  Thank You for forgiveness.

Okay, God.   I tried staying away and I miss You too much to stop praying to You daily at this site.  Thank you for the love You have showered onto me.  I feel blessed.  I fell loved.  And those are great feelings.  Channel me to use my talents and gifts to help others.         
   Thank You for the PENNIES FOR PENCILS idea.  The church collected over $100 to buy school supplies for children in need.  Consecrate those materials so all the little hands that use them feel you love in their life.
   Bless all the little children as they prepare to start school later in August.  Keep them safe as they walk to school.  Ease their minds from fear and worry.  Help them to concentrate and learn new skills.  Amen

Lord God on high,
    This has been an amazing year in prayer.  I started this to capture and use all the prayers I had saved over the years.  And then part way through I found out the box of prayers that I had saved was thrown out.  So that presented a challenge.  Computer problems and lack of Internet service were also challenges that had to be overcome.  Hard times and depths of anguish and despair brought me low and challenged me. 
   At times this year I felt like You were allowing Satan to have his way with my life.  But I used Job as an example and was determined to thank you through all the trials and tribulations although I was not as strong as Job and questioned when You would be done testing me.  And the answer is never. 
   You will always test me and refine me and shape me into a better human being.  Life is a journey and as I draw close to the end I've learned that I am a spirit having a human experience, not a human having a spiritual awakening.  I am Your child here on earth and anything I can do to help any person or any animal in need is why I am here.  Thank you for giving me pleasure in helping others.  Thank You for this life.  AMEN

Hey, God, it's me again.  I don't know how much more I can take with trees continually falling down around our house for the past three months.  It's all up to me to cut the wood up, drag it to the street and bundle up the branches all without a chain saw.  I couldn't even find our saw and had to borrow one from a neighbor which was like a little key hole saw.  Okay, I know you are challenging me.  I know I am supposed to learn something from all this but I give up.  I can't figure out the lesson. Please stop with the trees falling down!!  The load is so heavy and oak limbs are not easy to deal with.  Can't you teach me with things not so heavy or am I so dense I need oak trees to fall four times.  Should I stand under one as it's falling.  Will I get the point then?  Am I that dense?  Guess I am.  Please try sky writing - then maybe I could understand what you want me to see with all this carnage and destruction.  All I am getting is depressed and ready to give up but I don't want to give up.  I want to pass this test.  So I need the gift of insight and wisdom.  I need Your grace, God.  I trust You.  I know I have faith in You and that You are teaching me a valuable lesson.  I'm just too thick to get it today!  Help enlighten me.  Don't let the devil win this test.  I want to be victorious in Your test. Strengthen me until I can pass Your test. Amen

   It's 4 a.m. and the stock is fed and watered, the garbage is taken care of for the week, the groceries are in the house and all put away, my spouse's clothes for the day are laid out, the alarm is set for my loved ones, I've done a half hour of Bible study and now I sit down to pray.  I see all those little chores as my prays in action because it is sharing my love with those in my life.  And You, Lord, have put love in my heart.  You have taught me love is the vital link to You.  You have commanded I share your love.  First I must love love my God with all my heart, all mind and all my soul and second I must love others as I love myself.  So, God, I've been busy loving.  Accept the work from my hands to bless those whom You have placed in my life.  You have given me these people and critters to love.  Help me be the best lover.  Make me a great lover.  Let Your love filter through me to make this universe as You envisioned it when you created it.  Let love reign supreme.  I rejoice in You and want You to know I love You.  It's great being Your child and knowing You love me, too.  Amen

Lord God,
    Yesterday I had an A HA moment.  Over the past 3 score and ? years I had come to accept that I would never receive any love from my mother but that according to the ten commandments I would honor her as required by God.  It doesn't command us to love our parents but to honor them.  That I could do.     
   But yesterday I was made aware that my siblings would never acknowledge what went on in our household as children.  And now I can accept that, too.  That was a healing moment.  I would never shatter their childhood reality.  And now I could accept that what was my reality was true for me and me alone.  I do not need their validation.
   So thank You, God, for this healing realization.  I can now fully accept all that happened.  You have worked wonders for me with this healing.  Bless You!!

DAY 343 "Pennies For Pencils"

God,
   I love this ideas that you place in my mind.   I call them a GOD THING because I could never come up with the idea on my own.  This last GOD THING is so beautifully simple that I can see it sweeping the country.  "Pennies For Pencils" has us collect loose change for just one summer month and then everyone turns their spare change into church.  We buy school supplies, like new pencils, erasers and paper for children in need.  We get to bless those children who folks can't afford any new supplies for school and the kids get to know God's love through us lowly earthlings.  We get to practice agape love and put what Jesus taught us into action.  It's so simple that it is truly divinely inspired.  We have church passes out decorated old tins to collect the money.  The supplies are bought and go to foster kids, needy inner city youth or homeless children at centers.  It's a win - win situation for all.  Thank You, God,  for having us put Your love into action.  We get to feel good doing something simple and then hurting children get loved and supplies.  You are so smart, God.  I just love seeing You in action.  Amen

   I recognize that evil exists.  I feel it's presence.  I will resist with Your help.  Help me abide in goodness and grace.  I do not want to give evil a foothold in my life.  I want to live a pure life.  I strive to be holy and righteous.  Help me do so.  Please help me!

 I feel like quitting but I don't.  I am discouraged as a parent but I hang in there.  I am weary of doing good but I do a little more.  I am pessimistic about my job but I roll up my sleeve and go it at again.  There's no communication in my marriage but I give it one more shot.
  Because of You I know a finisher is not one with no wounds or weariness but quite the contrary, often bloody and scarred.  Because of You I know the Land of the Promise awaits those who endure.  It is there for those who simply remain to the end.  Because of You I will be a finisher.  Amen
